This water repellant paper softens like leather with age. These products made from Washi paper, screen printed with natural pigments and strengthened using konnyaku glue.

FIVE とは・・・ 富山県の深い山々に囲まれた秘境五箇山。その五箇山で作られる和紙 は古くから人々の生活の一部になっています。紙づくりの豊富な知識 と経験を持つ「五箇山和紙の里」とデザインチーム「minna」によっ て既存の和紙の感覚にとらわれない新しいブランド【FIVE】が生まれ ました。【FIVE】は五箇山の「五/FIVE」、職人の手、五本指の「五 /FIVE」から 名付けています。

Gokayama is an unexplored area of Toyama prefecture, roundedby high mountains.Washi (Japanese traditional paper) has been an invaluable part of the local way of life.It is made from special materials that can only be harvested in Gokayama. This new brand FIVE strives to explore applications of Washi in new and innovative ways, which honor Japanese traditions.The name FIVE is derived from Gokayama (Go meaning five) and also represents the five fingers artisans use to handcraftthe Washi.
